KCR + Bowen therapy
Supported joint movement and stretching, followed by gentle Bowen contact and quiet pauses. Two approaches, shaped around your comfort.
Gentle contact. Space between movements.

Bowen therapy, also called Bowenwork or the Bowen technique, uses gentle rolling thumb and finger movements over soft tissues, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. Light pressure is often applied through a layer of light clothing.
Short pauses, typically two to five minutes, separate sequences of moves and give you time to settle between contacts. Dora explains the approach and positioning before treatment, and you can ask for an adjustment or stop at any time.
The approach aims to encourage relaxation and is often explained in terms of the autonomic nervous system moving towards a calmer “rest-and-digest” state. This is a proposed explanation, rather than a proven mechanism for Bowen. Research on pain and physical function remains uncertain, and individual results vary.

The approach uses light, rolling thumb and finger movements over muscles and other soft tissues, separated by quiet pauses. Pressure should feel comfortable, and lighter contact or a different position can be used where appropriate.
Short breaks, typically two to five minutes, are part of Bowen’s rhythm. They give you quiet time between sequences and are intended to allow the body to respond to the gentle input. A particular healing mechanism is not established by the pauses alone.
The 2024 Australian evidence evaluation found very uncertain evidence for important pain and physical function outcomes. Individual benefit cannot be guaranteed.

Bowen can often be performed through light clothing. Some techniques use direct skin contact; any clothing adjustment, draping and positioning are agreed before treatment so your privacy and comfort are respected.
A single Bowen session costs £50, or £170 for four sessions. A combined KCR + Bowen session costs £70 for 90 minutes. Each appointment is personally confirmed.

It describes the calmer activity associated with the parasympathetic part of the autonomic nervous system. Bowen aims to encourage relaxation, but a specific switch in nervous-system activity is a proposed explanation rather than a proven effect of the treatment.
When appropriate for your needs, Dora combines two treatments in one 90-minute session. Each combined visit costs £70.
